I had always been an ambitious young man, ever since I was a child, I had dreamed of going to university and pursuing a successful career. I worked hard throughout my high school years and was finally accepted into a prestigious university to study engineering in Karachi. Everything was going according to plan, and I was on my way to achieving my dreams.

But one day, I made a mistake that would change my life forever. It was a mistake that I knew I would later regret and would haunt me for years to come. I had been struggling with my thesis work in the final year, and I was falling behind. I knew that I needed to catch up, so I decided to take a shortcut. I copied some of my classmates' work, hoping to get ahead.

Unfortunately for me, my thesis supervisor caught me in the act. The professor was disappointed and angry, and he reported my actions to the Head of the Department. The consequences were severe. I was suspended from the university and was required to attend a disciplinary hearing. I was devastated. All of my hard work and dreams of a successful career were suddenly in jeopardy. I could not face myself in the mirror. I was ashamed of myself.

At the disciplinary hearing, I was given a chance to explain my actions. I admitted my mistake and expressed my remorse. The university authorities were sympathetic, but they still had to take disciplinary action. I was suspended for a couple of months, and I was required to complete community service hours and attend counseling sessions. They were kind because of my previous academic record and rank in merit list.

Those couple of months that I spent away from university were a turning point in my life. I had time to reflect on my actions and the direction my life was heading. I realized that I had been so focused on my career that I had neglected my personal life. I had few close friends and no significant other. I had never traveled or experienced anything outside of my academic pursuits. I had been like this since I was a kid. This is why I made that mistake because I wanted to be good at my academics.

During my suspension, I traveled to Islamabad and Muree, something I had always wanted to do because these cities are the most beautiful, culturally rich and peaceful cities in the entire country. I met new people, learned about different cultures, and had new experiences. I also spent time volunteering at a local homeless shelter, where I discovered a passion for helping others. I began to see this mistake as a wake-up call, an opportunity to change my life for the better.

When I returned to university, I was a totally different person. I was more focused, but also more relaxed. I had a new perspective on life and was determined to make the most of these opportunities. I became more involved in extracurricular activities, joined clubs, and made new friends. Those friends are still in contact with me. I became more acceptable in the social circles during that time. I was finally able to contribute my thoughts in important thesis and research works.

My suspension had been a setback, but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. It gave me time to figure out what I really needed to do. It gave me the opportunity to explore myself. I graduated from university with honors 3 years ago. The university professors were also impressed with the person I had become. But I also continued to volunteer and help others, something that had become an important part of my life. I met someone special and now I am planning to start a family. I was happy and fulfilled in a way that I never would have been if I had not made that mistake.

Whenever I look back, I realize that my mistake had been a turning point in my life. It had forced me to reevaluate my priorities and make changes that ultimately led to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I had learned that mistakes can be painful and difficult, but they can also be opportunities for growth and change. Making mistakes are good for your growth. This is my belief that one should never stop trying and exploring because of the fear of mistakes. Mistakes are essential part of the process of personal growth.
