Ellie's Logo [SPA/ENG]

Hola, espero estén teniendo un lindo día. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, una idea muy sencilla y original para crear un logo con el nombre de nuestra mascota. Siento que no hay mejor firma que la forma de sus almohadillas, yo hice el de Ellie tomando como referencia la almohadilla de su pata delantera izquierda.

Hi, I hope you are having a nice day. Today I want to share with you, a very simple and original idea to create a logo with the name of our pet. I feel that there is no better signature than the shape of their pads, I made Ellie's taking as a reference the pad of her left front paw.

El proceso es bastante simple y aplicación que usé es sumamente intuitiva, no tiene tantas opciones por lo que no resulta abrumadora ni intimidante. A Ellie no le gusta que le toquen las patas, por lo que tomé una foto mientras estaba acostada de lado. Traté de que quedara lo más centrada posible y usé esta como guía para hacer el nombre.

The process is pretty simple and the application I used is extremely intuitive, it doesn't have that many options so it's not overwhelming or intimidating. Ellie doesn't like to have her paws touched, so I took a picture while she was lying on her side. I tried to make it as centered as possible and used this as a guide to make the name.

La idea es amoldar cada letra, a la forma de la almohadilla que hayan decidido utilizar como base. Una vez obtuve la foto, seleccioné un lienzo de 1:1 en Sketch Draw & Paint y abrí la misma. Para poder usarla como guía hice lo siguiente, coloqué la fotografía del tamaño deseado, la centré de acuerdo a mi gusto y bajé la opacidad a 75%.

The idea is to mold each letter to the shape of the pad you have decided to use as a base. Once I got the photo, I selected a 1:1 canvas in Sketch Draw & Paint and opened it. In order to use it as a guide I did the following, I placed the photo of the desired size, centered it according to my taste and lowered the opacity to 75%.

Luego empecé a trazar con negro cada una de las letras e hice el resto de las formas, con los colores correspondientes. Al principio no sabía que tonos usar pero luego recordé, los distintos arneses que Ellie ha tenido hasta el momento y sentí que eran la mejor opción. Considero que lucen muy bien juntos y en definitiva, fue un plus elegir colores que tuvieran un significado, en lugar de tonos aleatorios.

Then I started to trace with black each one of the letters and made the rest of the shapes, with the corresponding colors. At first I didn't know what shades to use but then I remembered the different harnesses Ellie has had so far and I felt they were the best choice. I think they look great together and it was definitely a plus to choose colors that had meaning, rather than random shades.

Considero que es un proyecto bastante útil, se me ocurren un montón de posibilidades y a continuación les mencionaré algunas. Creo que este diseño quedaría muy chévere como sticker, parche/pin, bordado o estampado en una camisa o donde quieran. Esas son solo algunas opciones pero como siempre, el límite es nuestra imaginación.

I think this is a very useful project, I can think of a lot of possibilities and I will mention some of them below. I think this design would look very cool as a sticker, patch/pin, embroidery or print on a shirt or wherever you want. Those are just a few options but as always, the limit is our imagination.

Esto es algo que perfectamente puede ser usado como parte de una identidad visual. He visto muchísimo contenido relacionado con mascotas, algunas tienen sus propias redes sociales y siento que un buen logo, siempre es un plus. Es algo que también serviría para tiendas de mascotas y cosas por el estilo.

This is something that can perfectly be used as part of a visual identity. I have seen a lot of content related to pets, some of them have their own social networks and I feel that a good logo is always a plus. It's something that would also work for pet stores and the like.

O si como yo, quieres algo único y distintivo para tu mejor amigo en el mundo. Ellie para mí es lo máximo y no veía la hora de hacer algo memorable, me tomé muy en serio el proceso de creación y cuidé cada detalle. Esto es algo que hice con todo el amor y cariño que siento por ella... No podría estar más feliz con el resultado, siento que cada segundo invertido valió la pena. Yo espero que a ustedes les guste, no tanto como a mí porque eso sería algo difícil y poco realista pero ustedes me entienden.

Or if like me, you want something unique and distinctive for your best friend in the world. Ellie for me is the ultimate and I couldn't wait to make something memorable, I took the creation process very seriously and took care of every detail. This is something that I did with all the love and affection I feel for her... I couldn't be happier with the result, I feel that every second invested was worth it. I hope you like it, not as much as I do because that would be difficult and unrealistic but you know what I mean.

_{App ✍🏻 Sketch Draw & Paint}

Bueno aquí les voy a explicar brevemente, lo que hice para vectorizar el diseño. Creé un nuevo proyecto en Adobe Illustrator, con las medidas que pueden observar en la imagen y luego coloqué el diseño que hice previamente. Usé el apartado de Calco de imagen y seleccioné la opción de 16 colores una vez realizado dicho proceso, usé Expandir e hice doble click izquierdo para después seleccionar y borrar el fondo de la imagen. Hice doble click izquierdo nuevamente y para terminar, usé la opción de Exportar para guardar mi diseño en formato PNG transparente y listo.

Well here I am going to explain briefly what I did to vectorize the design. I created a new project in Adobe Illustrator, with the measures that you can see in the image and then I placed the design that I made previously. I used the Calc Image section and selected the 16 colors option, then I used Expand and double left clicked to select and erase the background of the image. I double left clicked again and finally, I used the Export option to save my design in transparent PNG format and I was done.

Y así de fácil y rápido pueden vectorizar sus logos realizados en Sketch Draw & Paint o en cualquier otra app de dibujo. Yo prefiero trabajar en estos dos programas porque obtengo el mejor resultado posible de acuerdo a mis capacidades, destrezas y conocimientos. Yo tengo experiencia en el arte digital, hace bastante tiempo empecé a dibujar en esta aplicación, inicié haciendo fondos, luego hice mis primeros chibis y obtuve resultados cada vez mejores con práctica constante. Eventualmente empecé a usar IbisPaintX pero sigo usando Sketch Draw & Paint para algunos proyectos y este fue uno de ellos.

And that's how easy and fast you can vectorize your logos made in Sketch Draw & Paint or any other drawing app. I prefer to work in these two programs because I get the best possible result according to my capabilities, skills and knowledge. I have experience in digital art, quite some time ago I started drawing in this app, I started making backgrounds, then I made my first chibis and got better and better results with constant practice. Eventually I started using IbisPaintX but I still use Sketch Draw & Paint for some projects and this was one of them.

Últimamente hago los logos de esta forma y me han encantado los resultados, por eso decidí compartir este proceso el día de hoy. Además siento que es una idea muy linda, fácil y económica para hacer logos, tipografías, stickers y cositas así. A mí me va mucho mejor de esta manera, el cursor de la laptop me limita muchísimo a la hora de diseñar y por eso opto por este método. Mi mouse está destruido y hasta que compre uno nuevo, trataré de usar el cursor lo menos posible porque no nos llevamos bien.

Lately I've been doing logos this way and I've been loving the results, so I decided to share this process today. I also feel that it is a very nice, easy and economical idea to make logos, typographies, stickers and little things like that. I do much better this way, the cursor on my laptop limits me a lot when designing and that's why I chose this method. My mouse is destroyed and until I buy a new one, I will try to use the cursor as little as possible because we don't get along well.

Dejando ese tema de lado, yo espero de todo corazón que hayan aprendido algo en el post de hoy y que se animen a intentar las ideas que se les ocurren. Yo dibujo en mi teléfono con mis dedos, sé de primera mano que si se puede. No hace falta tener cosas muy costosas y complicadas para hacer proyectos como este, hay alternativas mucho más accesibles con las que pueden materializar sus ideas. Es cuestión de animarse a probar y perseverar, la paciencia es muy importante por no decir vital. En este punto y sin mucho más que decir, me despido pero no sin antes darles las gracias por leer.
