Hellooo, friends of the Sketchbook community, I hope you're having a day with lots of sparkles!

Today I wanted to make a drawing with a surrealist touch. My obsession with flowers is well known, and I wanted to draw something from there, mixing it with theatricality. When I went on Pinterest, I found an interesting reference to guide me with the main idea, but giving it my own touch. Without further ado, join me in the process.

I start by making a sketch: I draw an oval with "garlic clove" shapes around it and, for the body, I only make a cylindrical shape.

Then I trace a very simple face: small eyes, a prominent nose and very round lips.

With the pencil I add small shadows in the area between the nose and each eye. I also "color" the lips.

I pass my finger over the drawing to blend it.

Then I outline the face and facial features, adding dramatic shadows, mainly on the eyes.

From the body sketch, I decide to draw an attempt at an old-fashioned dress, focusing on marking folds with very soft strokes. I also make very long sleeves, because my idea is for the outfit to look like a tunic.

The next thing is to give the final shape to the petals around the head and, with small strokes in the center of each petal, give them depth.

With the pencil I also darken the hair and decide to add spiral strands to give it my own touch.

I add deeper shadows and blend more.

Lastly, I pass an eraser around the outline of the drawing so it stands out more, resulting in a kind of glowing aura around this mysterious woman.

And that would be the drawing. What kind of play could a character dressed like this perform? See you in the next post, mwah.
