“Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before--more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle.”
― Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
These past few days have left me in a state of deep lament. I still find my thumb twitching back and forth, trying to scroll a news feed that no longer exists. If I stare at wall and blink really fast, I can still see the FB icon flicker in front of my eyes. It's as if the blue and white light that once cast so brilliantly from my iphone left a permanent scar in the back of my cornea.
I come here seeking sanctuary. A quiet place, far away from the political ramblings and protein powder advertisements (I don't even lift). Look forward to making new connections.
