The current rise of Bitcoin is truly massive; in the past two weeks, value rose with $1400 and has shot past the barrier of $4000 hours ago. This has caused Bitcoin to be the absolute leader again regarding percentage of the total market capitalization with currently a little over 50%. Most altcoins are losing ground as we speak; even behemoth Ethereum has declinded somewhat in the past few days. But holders of altcoins certainly shouldn't worry about this, as numbers for them will probably go up also in the near future.
There's no doubt the current surge of Bitcoin will soon reach its peak. Many holders of Bitcoin will seize their profits and will begin looking at the relative cheap altcoins to diverge their funds into. Yes, there will be massive differences between altcoins; some will be launched into the stratosphere, some will experience an 'ordinary' pump & dump scenario, and others might not move at all. However, if you've diversified your funds somewhat, chances are very high you'll end up with profits one way or another ... !
