Good morning , last night at +/- 01:00 AM my witness @stresskiller was finally updated to 1.28.8 , updated on the second witness is still running and should be done somewhere arround 2 or 3 AM tomorrow morning .

Please make sure your witness votes are still on active witnesses , there are a lot of inactive witnesses still getting votes holding back the new ones . and with an inactive witness i mean a witness that didn't sign a block for more then 30 days .

you can look it up at this website from @arcange https://hive.arcange.eu/witnesses/

and when you hover with you mouse over the lastblock column it will show you how long ago it signed the last block .

in the screen shot i hover over the witness Jesta and it show that the last time it signed a block it was 323 days ago and still it sits in the top 30 on the list .. so many people that don't remove their votes from inactive witnesses .

There are also a lot of witnesses that don't turn their witness off and people still think that they are active .

To check that pretty fast you can use this website by @primersion

just type in your name no need to login and it will show you your current votes

at the top you see that @stress.node signed the last block 2 days ago before i shut it down to run updates and my other backup is @suc7 currently not online

to update you witness just edit the .env file set your :
HIVE_VERSION=1.28.8
so that it will pull the new docker file and in the Arguments
ARGUMENTS="--force-replay"

make sure you disable the witness at this website made by @ausbitbank https://hive.ausbit.dev/witness
