Good morning! Last September 9th was a celebration introverts would most likely love to celebrate. QUIET DAY !!!
Hmmm... Sparks joy! 馃槀
According to Days of The Year, Quiet Day is celebrated by spending the day in silence. That means blocking your mind and body from the things that brings you stress by wandering around and surrounding yourself with nature. A perfect time for some introspection. If you can't afford to go out, I guess celebrating it at home doesn't defy the concept because the main rule is to stay quiet. Maybe just surround yourself with things that can induce your body to be relaxed. Light scented candles, read a book, take a long bath, etc. Anything that could bring you away from distractions. I am almost thinking this day is also a day for healing. Hehe.
The website also says that it is a day to excuse yourself from talking at work. Just tell them that you are celebrating Quiet Day. But I doubt people would believe or accept it. Maybe it will baffle them and think you're weird since workspaces are meant to be for extroverts. Ah, life is unfair for introverts.
Before I proceed to my drawing, I just want to say that staying quiet doesn't mean you have nothing to say, anti-social, uninterested, or worst, dumb. People who have problems with quiet people probably haven't spent time being one and so they don't know how beautiful and peaceful it is to be quiet. And by staying quiet, only little energy is expended which gives you more energy to do more important things.
If you ask me, even though nobody is asking, I mostly spend my day in silence so everyday is almost like Quiet Day. :)
QUIET DAY, "Ssshhh..."
First of all, I didn't mean to creep you out with this drawing. Halloween is still weeks away so this isn't an entry for a Halloween art. Lol. When I read of the Quiet Day, this was the first image that came in my mind. A girl curled up to her knees with her mouth stitched. There is beauty in silence, if only people would see it. But then, for most, it is almost like a curse, like you're a flaw from the society. And so I drew a girl sitting in the corner like she is an outcast but have accepted it because being silent is who she is, so she smiles.

I was initially thinking of adding blood and scars on her mouth but I dropped the idea because I think it's scary. 馃槀
