My aunt's cat have given birth to two lovely kitties last February, February 27th to be exact. They're a month and a week old now and the two kittens, just like what a typical young cat does, became playful. They like exploring around our little garden when we water the plants in the afternoon.
I'd love to pet them because they are still innocent, kind, and unaware of the maltreatment or abusiveness of some people. Because when they've been maltreated, expect the cat to lose its trust to humans. He/She won't let you touch him/her or even let you near. (I'll write at the end of this post why most of our cats before became untrustful to us.) Going back, I'd love to pet these kittens but I'm still hesitant for now because what if they accidentally bite me? It's difficult to go the hospital right now as they are busy fighting the pandemic. So maybe I'll play with them when the pandemic subsides. :)
In the meantime, I was able to capture photos of one of the kittens sneaking into the papaya plant. Lol.
When I got near the cat, it jumped back to the ground as if I caught him/her doing something prohibited. (My mom would actually get mad if she sees the kitty climbing on the container. Lol) They're lucky it was me because I'd like them to explore and play but they should not step on those fragile plants. Hahaha.
So going back to our previous cats being resentful of humans, it began when my father became abusive of cats. We don't know what went on his mind and one day he would just shoo away our cat going near him asking for food or just want to rub its body on his feet, or worse, he would kick the cat or hit it with a broom stick so it would go away from him. I feel sorry for the cats and would understand why they seem to be afraid from us. When I walk near them, they would flinch and step back.
I don't know why he hates cats. Whenever one of our cats give birth to kittens, he would always tell us to throw them. Of course, we opposed him and insisted to keep the kittens. I remember when I was young, my sister and I saw from the window of our room our father throw the kittens on a burning metal drum. That was the worst! And until today, we never forget it! We tell him today that what he did before could've sent him to jail if someone saw him and reported him for animal abuse.
Returning to the present, he told my aunt to throw the two kittens on this post. My aunt refused and said it's pitiful because they'll get separated with their mother. He then suggested throw the mother too. Errr.. I can't help myself to butt in their conversation. I told him it will be a great sin to throw animals away and God will punish him if he did it. My father claims himself to be religious just because he turns the radio on to a religious station throughout the day while roaming around the house, not actually focusing and listening on the words being preached.Ugh.
But don't worry, I'll do my best to protect these kitties from a cat-hater! I want them to grow with a happy relationship with humans. :)
