Introducing the Strawmobile mk2. The bane of and saviour of my existence. Last month of winter about to start so I've got about nine weeks to complete the interior insulation and lining, as well as do the bodywork and custom paint work so it may be an operational tattoo shop.
I have some experience making Strawmobiles. My first one was an Austrailan 1995 XG Falcon ute that had full heavy roofracks starting from the front bumper/fender. I painted it matt black AKA murdered it out and had custom silver writing on it "Strawman Tattoo" and a huge windblown banner down the side saying "Strawman is dead". Hopefully I can find a photo when my computer gets fixed. It was a promo vehicle and got me tattoo clients. People who found me on fascistbook were entertained with a video called meet your strawman. The Strawmobile mk1 was usually illegal and I had the police following me more than once but they didn't hassle me. Police like tattoos too these days. Anyway the Strawmobile mk2 is not just a promo vehicle but an actual shop.
I've worked in three shops and each one had a non artist manager or owner. The first one in America told me I couldn't speak properly. I should have told him it is actually Americans who can't speak properly " geddr done" .
The second one was an Angel's shop and I got the feeling I was just an economic unit.
The third one burnt me so badly that I now understand the saying "love tattooing, hate the industry". So I have taken steps to compete with them. To put them down humanely so that they don't have to linger.
