So today, June 16th, the Celtics have discussed a potential trade deal involving the No.1 draft pick and the 76ers. This would send a number of picks to the Celtics, including the 76ers No.3 pick in this years draft.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This deal would work out for both sides. The 76ers can now draft a guard like Markelle Fultz to pair with Ben Simmons. Then we still have players like Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor to make a great team to compete for a playoff spot. If this trade does go through, I will keep my eye out on the 76ers for the next 1 or 2 years to see what they add to their team and see how far this team can go.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now let's take a look at the Celtics. This is still a good deal to take. You're getting the No.3 and a few other picks that will help build around your core of Isiah Thomas. And you still have a lot of picks from future drafts. If the Celtics can grab a forward like Josh Jackson, they will have put together a team that can take on the Cavaliers! If that doesn't happen this year, well their front office knows what their doing. They can nab someone during free agency or get 3rd star in the draft, well we'll see how this year's finals will turn out like!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm excited for this years draft. I will sure be watching and reporting here what happens. The draft will be on June 22 7PM ET on ESPN. Mark you calendars! I will see you guys next time, and have a great day!
