It has been a month, since I have been a part of one of the best service on Hive platform - topcomment. There is a reason behind this "one of the best." So hear me out, we all live in a capitalist society, right? Whether we like it or not, but we all love some capital meaning attached. If not capital, but we really love some sort of favor-for-favor approach. By far, I have seen three ways to support meaningful engagements: topcomment service, commentrewarder service, and self-appreciation. Personally, I am also in the run to break the $0.020 threshold. Funny enough: I am closer to it than ever. And reason behind it is also interactions.
A bit of early story
When I joined this platform, I was a different person. I used to write more, and engage less. First few posts, being a newbie, were really welcomed, in capital sense. Later on, it started to come down. Then, someone on Waves suggested me to interact more. I did, and it really worked out well. And since then, things have been working out differently, pretty well too.
Present story
This piece is more like a personal story aka observation. So bear me out. I was not going to write about it, as there are many other more valuable pieces about this topic. But the thing is, last week seemed bit off, with regards to interaction and engagements. Everytime I come online, I read few articles and make some comments. Then I shift to Discord to topcomment section. Depending on the time, I will be reading few articles, and of course, reading comments. Next ahead begins my tutoring instincts. And, I will be grading the read one. But since the last week, there is a sharp decline in interactions. At least, this is what I have been noticing. What are the reasons, well I do not have a clear answer for it. So I will not be discussing this part.
Rather let me deal with the perks of interactions from my personal observation.
Meritfulness
Now, let us activate all our sense, because we are going to deal with deep stuff. Hehe, nothing serious. As far as I know, there is not a single demerit of interaction. Talk about merits? This list can go on and on for some time. If one is a good writer, there is high chance to write a complete book. This meritfulness thing is a complete win-win scenario.
Let us have an example for this. Mr.A writes a post, about a certain topic. Mr.B and many other Misters read it. Then few of them response in a "meaningful" manner. Mr.A will be happy that his content is being taken serious and read. The commenter has shared his opinion, and there is possibility that this commenter will be served well. Through three early mentioned ways. However, the capital is just a part of this journey. Interaction, meaningful one, really matters a lot.
Now with the meaningful interaction.
At the surface level, there are two types of comments: mere interaction and genuine interaction. The first type will write a good comment, but it will be lacking clear depth. The second one, it might be a short one, but will catch the essence of the necessary things. Both matters, but the mere interaction one is forced one. And no offense to anyone, but comment farmers need to understand this aspect. Like what are you even expecting this way?
Favor-for-favour
There is a reason for two different styled "favor/favour." Hive is a platform full of people from different regions. Some of us share somewhat relatedness, some of us are completely different. You may find people, who resonate with your thinking process; you may find people, who will think of you as a madman. But, from personal experience, even disagreement is kind and warm. So, remember this favor-for-favour. Because in this ecosystem, we all are sharing lots of things. And believe me, reading articles here has really changed and cleared my ideology. Moreover, it has provided me with various topics to write. Even this piece write here is, somewhat, influenced by the readings. So follow this simple thing: L-earning (learn and earn).
Favor-for-favour should not mean, “I commented on yours, now you owe me one.” It should be more like: “I found something valuable here, so let me contribute something valuable too.”
Interaction is not only transaction.
The real currency of Hive is not always Hive or HBD, or the rewards attached to a post. Sometimes, a simple attention values more. Someone spends a few minutes of their life reading what you wrote, comprehending it, thinking about it, and simply, responding it. Just a proof of brain is enough.
In the end, somewhere in all of this, you might meet good people. People you would never have encountered otherwise, from places you may have never visited, with completely new ideas. Some may become regular readers and voters, some may turn out to be friends, and some may simply leave a comment that will have unimaginable meanings attached. So, interact, read, respond, disagree and be you. You never know what kind of connectiong might be waiting behind the next username.
