I have been intending to do something to help prevent wind blown rain from drenching our screened back porch area for years. I finally got to it today.

I have been sleeping on this bamboo thing that my wife Jen scored for a long time thinking that it might help my backaches. Didn’t work. But I think it’s just great for this purpose.

Using some small stuff I made on the rope machine,
Some screws from dismantling something else. A piece of teak they were throwing away at the boatyard. A piece of bamboo that I cut from a neighbor’s patch. And a can of gold metal flake paint I got from the alley behind the house.

This is what I came up with.
I figure I can prop it up or tie it down depending on the situation.

I think I like it already.

Makes for a much shadier southern facing porch. We can still see out just fine while it provides a bit more privacy for the house.

I know that I am a scrounge. But I would rather find ways of needing less money than finding ways of earning more money. Plus I just have fun giving things a second, (or 3rd,or 4th), life . It’s fulfilling in a way that many people don’t understand. And that’s just fine with me. I hope they keep throwing all that good stuff out.

Hope everyone has been enjoying a great weekend. I have.

Just finished listening to James C’s podcast about positive propaganda. So here’s some for you.
