Afternoon everyone…..
I DID IT…… I managed to finish the kitchen install today. It was quite a challenge at the end. I never butt my cabinets up against the ceiling. I either leave a small gap, or I set the cabinets to the height that the crown molding will meet the ceiling. It’s the homeowner’s choice. These had the crown molding going to the ceiling.
Well…… in a twenty one foot length of cabinets, the ceiling dipped and was off by just under an inch and a half. That is a huge difference and very difficult to make right. Luckily I always have a backup plan for something like this, and had a stained piece of wood to match.
It was only an eight foot piece which barely and I do mean barely hid enough of the gap to look finished and correct.
Because of all these extra steps, I didn’t finish as early as I had planned and now not only am I behind on packing for vacation. But I wasn’t able to deposit the final check because the banks had closed.
It’s already late in the day and I have tons to do still….
Most people assume that there is some kind of mold for these pours. That is true for maybe twenty to thirty percent of my stuff. The rest are done with impressions in delft clay. Which is a very tedious.
This piece is very unusual for a silver pourer. It’s a piece from an old YouTube silver community member Christopher Sanchez. It’s number 31.
