Love the nature at the start of your commute. I'm sure you will enjoy it. We lived at the last station on the BART in the San Francisco Bay area. You could go all the way to the other end which was SFO but it was about an hour 40 minutes and you had to switch lines. It was much shorter to drive because you could cut across the south bay and didn't have to go through the city. Looks like the Metra trains reach out a lot farther. I never did a daily commute on BART mostly used it for sporting events to avoid the heavy traffic.
