Summer at the Lake
I've been posting (and living π ) in the frozen North this month. I took a vacation to my photo files for some warmer days. I think I prefer the swimming platforms versus the ice fishing huts.

News from the freezer
Been a bit since I posted. We get out eveeryday for a walk but that doesn't totally cure cabin fever. Dark views of the lake. More snow coming tonight. Then another cold snap.

Bluebird houses in the snow
Bluebird house on a fence post in my garden. Well I'm making them for bluebirds but sometimes wrens will beat the bluebirds claiming the birdhouse first.

Cattails
Cattails along a creek in the snow. A small creek runs under the snow and is still flowing despite the long run of freezing weather we are having. Cattails usually remain standing through the winter.

Walking in the snow
More snow here in Vermont. Another walk in the lovely silence of fresh snowfall. It is a bit warmer today but we are going on a week now of temperatures below freezing. The new snow does look nice.

Before and after π
Great sunrise this morning π Our walks are a little before dawn during the dark days of winter. We walk past this old farmhouse going to and from the lake. Today the sun was up on the way back.

Early walk in the snow
Up the morning and out the door for an early walk. Down the drive and along the road that hasn't been plowed yet. If the world gives you snow... You take photos of snow.

Ain't no sunshine
Cold and snowy day in Vermont. It is going to be cold all week. Mostly in the teens fahrenheit. I made a short video of the light snow and overcast sky this morning.

Sunrise and mill pond
We walked a different route this morning and were treated with sunrise colors. A bit subtle with the cloud cover but still nice. The sunrise is over the south end of the lake in the winter.

Back to the lake
Back to the lake. Getting back into our routine after Christmas and travels. The lake is an important part of that routine. The lake is the same but always changing.

Frozen Fog
Our lake is frozen over. Its been foggy in the mornings. With the low temperatures the fog is freezing on the trees. This white pine has both the snow and ice crystals from the freezing fog.

Merry Christmas
New wreath on the front door. We have been staying pretty close to home and cooking/baking. We did a turkey dinner this year on Christmas, complete with all the fixings.

Jurassic Park
Welcome to Jurrasic Park! Ok its actually a frilled lizard not a Dilophosaurus from the movie. Maybe even cooler because *** spolier alert *** the dilophosaurus didn't have a frill and probably didn't

Winter morning at the lake
Lake Dunmore is starting to have some ice. At least in the shallows. The rest of the lake is covered with geese πGeese are either gathering up here before heading further south or just stopping off
