Sunrise over the southern end of Lake Dunmore. As we get near Spring, the sun moves north and starts to peak around the corner into my view of the lake. We usually make it down to the lake at about 7:30am.

Cold weather but stream still flowing under the ice. Waterfall with ice. Lots of different textures in the ice. Stitches across a break in the ice. Bubbles under ice. Frozen foam. Flowing under a rock.

Happy Sunday from snowy Vermont. Its been snowing a little everyday so we have a covering of snow including on the lake. And ice on the lake since it was down to 11F (-12C) last night.

Lone cattail in icy swamp. I started out on my #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay and passed a swampy area. I decided to stop and take a few shots of the cattails. The broad swamp is frozen over now

Spring? these crocuses are a little early to the party. I walked around town and took a few shots this WINTER day. The sun came out for awhile making a nice backdrop for the church.

Went on an awesome hike yesterday evening! Hiked up to Rattlesnake Cliff on Mount Moosalamoo. The lookout is at 1946 ft. The view is awesome. You can see the Adirondacks across the Lake Champlain valley

I took a different route on the morning walk. Instead of down to the lake, I walked the other way through the local farms and fields. I love this old barn.

We went into the woods for a #wednesdaywalk. We ventured a little higher up in the Green Mountains and the snow was still pretty. Much of the snow is melted near our house. It was a nice 30F for our afternoon

Its so cold the waves are frozen in time 🥶 Well not really but it has been down to 15F (-9C) in the mornings. You can picture waves on the lake and this 3D wave ice sculpture on the shore.

What a #beautifulsunday! The sun was finally out. We took advantage for an afternoon hike up to Silver Lake in the Green Mountain National Forest.

Blue overcast morning at Lake Dunmore. Sun was promised by the weather forecast but hasn't appeared. The sun is up but behind the clouds. The lake is frozen over with whisps of powdery snow blown around.

Ice is breaking up a bit with the warmer weather this week. This ice washed ashore and created an interesting form. Most of the lake is still iced over and still no sun 🙁

I took a detour on my morning walk to check out the pond on the Leicester River near my house. Reflections were great even on an overcast morning. I feel like I'm living in a monochromatic world lately.

More snow today. Nature was all in white again but our neighbor is flying the colors. We got 2-3 inches of heavy, wet snow. Enough to coat everything but not really be a problem for travel or power lines
