Snowy day
Snowy day in Vermont. We got 3-4 inches of new snow overnight. And it snowed most of the day today. Got out for some snowshoeing in the afternoon.

Frosty morning
Conditions were right the other day for frost on the trees. It made for a very pretty morning. Nice contrast between the evergreen, pine trees and the frost on the bare maple and birch trees.

Walking on water
I couldn't resist the cheesy "walking on water" joke 😜 We out on the lake this week. Supposedly the ice is up to 2 feet thick on most of the lake.

Mount Moosalamoo
The destination of my morning walk everyday is Lake Dunmore. I walk down to the lake and out on a neighbors dock then take a picture of Mount Moosalamoo looking across the lake.

Photos from a walk in the snow
A fresh, powdery snow makes for nice photos 🙂 A split rail fence sits at the top of a ridge at the edge of a field along our walk. The snow piled up nicely in the absence of any wind.

Its cold and getting colder in Vermont. Currently 5F with -10F wind chill. Expected to get down to -18F tonight. At least the ice fisherman have some good ice. I saw a couple of cars out on the ice this

Bixby Memorial Free Library - Vergennes, Vermont
The Bixby Memorial Free Library is an impressive library in the small town of Vergennes, Vermont. It was built in 1910 and features a beautiful central dome.

Hawthorne School
Hawthorne School in Bridport, Vermont circa 1864. This school has been restored and maintained beautifully even down to the rope to ring the school bell.

Random shots of Vermont winter
There isn't alot of snow on the ground but it is hanging around. It is supposed to warm up Thursday and Friday with maybe some rain so I thought I would take a few snow pictures before its gone.
