Have you ever received good news and couldn't really celebrate or express complete joy? I have, many times.
Most recent episode: On Wednesday, I received a mail from the Salzburg Summer Academy informing me that I've been awarded a study grant to attend a course with Emeka Kupeski Okereke (Exploring the Void) in Salzburg, Austria and my first reaction was dejection and frustration. The information was followed with the disclaimer that I was responsible for my transportation to and accommodation in Salzburg for the duration of the course. By my estimate, that's about N1m. It's way above my resources. But, this opportunity is one I have always looked forward to.
Why? As a Photographer and intending Visual Storyteller, it is important that I learn the art of exploring every possibility in my storytelling. This course offers to open me up to the theory and practical of thinking as a Photographer/Storyteller. It is very important to me. And, I'm grateful to all who have shared in the joy that I feel at this prospect.
Now, I need your help. I realize the process of writing pitches and appeal fund letters may take more time. Which is why I am coming to you guys who have shared in jokes and arguments with me. I NEED YOUR HELP!
