I have been observing, with disdain, the calumny campaigns that followed the outcome of the just concluded general election, especially the one that borders on the president elect being a drug baron or what not. The rigor with which the campaign is being pushed to the internationally community makes me wonder if the campaigners have another country to call their home.
Yes, it is possible that the leaders of the campaign have dual nationalities. Nevertheless, one's original country of birth will always be their country, especially when things get tough. In other words, whatever comes out as the consequence of this campaign will likely be suffered by the common Nigerian man. The people we are campaigning against are likely to end up with diplomatic passports with priority pass.
We should not be too quick to pull down our country. There is absolutely no place like home.

Who are we?
STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. This is exactly what our first featured author for this week is doing - using a real life case study to tell the story of how medical rehabilitation works to restore good health, or ameliorate bad health condition. This particular post will have follow ups, most definitely.

We are currently in a world where it is possible to live in isolation for years while viewing the whole world (and even make virtual friends) through the windows of our internet-enabled device. While this sounds like an evolution, it appears living in isolation, with or without social interaction, have some correlations with some addictions and self discipline. I thought jokingly referring to people that use glasses as being 'blind' is a Nigerian thing. Well, it appears this joke (or not?) is something that has a wide reach as shown by this post. The truth is, recommended glasses will not make blind people see. Thus, using glasses does not equate to being blind. Our author even wen ahead to highlight some of the issues that can make one bespectacled.

I got to know about tuberculosis when I was in primary school. We lost one of our teachers to the disease and rumors had it then that her entire households has the bacteria. That was then. Today, there are several drugs that have been researched and produced to tackle the bacteria. Some of them were discussed in this post.

Last but not least is science here and there for the previous week. The two reports that particularly fascinate me for this week include the likelihood of development of a shape-shifting antibiotic that could help tackle superbugs and the likelihood of jellyfishes holding the key to the longevity of life that scientists have long been seeking.
