It takes a lot of emotional plasticity to be an active user on popular social media, especially Twitter. A whole gamut of takes is what you will come across every day - from the outright ingenious ones to the most stupid of the lots. You could make an harmless post and a stranger from miles off could just bump into your comment and accuse you of world war z.

In other words, being logical on social media is a very rare trait as everyone is infected with the confirmation bias virus.

This an ode to the just concluded Nigerian National Elections. May the best happen to our Jerusalem in the coming years.

Welcome to a new edition of STEMng Digest.

Who are we?

STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. While stemsocial focuses on everyone irrespective of their country, STEMng is specifically for Nigerians. The best stem contents published by Nigerians on the Hive blockchain are highlighted weekly.

Below are the posts that made it into our digest for this week:

  1. ebingo@ebingo: Exploring the Benefits of Soybeans for Fitness and Muscle Building

People who are into active muscle building will know how relevant proteins could be to their quest. The nutrient could be sourced from different foods, but the popular ones remain meat and egg. In this article, ebingo@ebingo explored the option of making Soybeans a protein source for muscle building. If you are a vegan that wishes to build muscles, this will particularly suit you.

2.jsalvage@jsalvage: Sciences based benefits of Yoga you don't know about
To be honest, I am one of those that unconsciously classifies Yoga as one of those health-related practices that have no scientific basis. This article from jsalvage@jsalvage shows that I may have been wrong with my assertion. It seems the science world is beginning to dive into Yoga and some proven benefits are being uncovered. Whether these findings will stand the test of time remains to be seen.

3.eni-ola@eni-ola: Bony Anatomy of the Vertebral Column
A lesson on human anatomy isn't exactly bad once in a while. An understanding of the anatomy of the vertebral column could especially be important in this age, where people sit for a long time working on their PCs. Give this one a read, you may never know when it will come in handy.

4.nattybongo@nattybongo: FAQs About Glaucoma and Its Management
You get access to specialists on Hive blockchain without having to pay heavily or queue for days. Here is a certified Optometrist educating us about glaucoma and how to manage it. I will recommend that everyone reads this one, even though glaucoma is not something anyone wishes for theirself, the knowledge may be helpful for someone that we know.

5.cyprianj@cyprianj: Novel laboratory grown blood vs Naturally synthesized type: which is better?
Here is an article form a veteran author who also happens to be a Lab scientist. There is no doubt that blood is important to life, and there are shortages of blood all over the world. It is also a truism that research is ongoing to come up with laboratory grown blood cells. In his article, the author compared the natural blood to the lab synthesized one. Quite an educative read.

And that ends our selections for this week. Do not forget to give the featured posts/authors your maximum support. Thank you in advance.

If you are a content creator on Hive and wondering how you can participate in the community, all you need to do would to:

  • Write original content or videos
  • Make it as interesting as possible
  • Adopt beautiful layout/formatting
  • Personalize your writing (it is social blogging, remember)
  • Use copyright-free images
  • Include references (facts over fiction)
  • to increase the likelihood of being discovered, use the tag 'stemng'.
