Well, I am spilling the beans about some new art that I made for the brand-new NFT art market that will be launching on Hive very soon!
I've known about NFT's for years now, but this will be the first NFT's I've ever minted. I am kicking myself for not getting into Super Rare in the very beginning when I knew about it.
Anyway, Hive is getting into the NFT scene, but no official news about it is allowed to be shared yet. I helped with some bug hunting and tested out a ton of aspects of the new site, also gave opinions about grammar and word choice.
Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about how people around me are reacting to everything going on in the USA, and while I was talking about this recently, I feel as if a lot of my white friends are just silent about the protests, while my black friends are expressing rage. I feel that until we are all free, no one is free. The blood symbolizes the fact that just because whites are silent, it doesn't mean that the truth won't emerge about what has been going on.
So, the White Silence Black Rage art just came to me...
An interesting thing happened after I made this, and my mother took a look at it. She said she thought the woman in the art was black, and said that was because of her hair style. The theme of whites co-opting black art, hair, music, culture and style is a big story in the USA. From Elvis to Bieber, the co-opting of black music is ongoing.

I started out using some Artbreeder images I made:
I cut out the lips on this image and placed them over her eyes, as a 75% transparency.
Then I used this image as the hair collage:
In Gimp, i copied and rotated all the heads to fit into her hair:
And i hand-drew all the eyelids in for the black woman blinking her eyes (super tedious!) And then I drew in the blood drips, there are only 3 different drips.
Then i added the background, and drew in some more hair. I used Gimp to make the GIF, then i optimized it using https://ezgif.com/

So, it's a long time coming that I finally made my first NFTs, and I hope to expand to other ETH NFT marketplaces too in the future, after I build up my portfolio. I have to admit, I think it's easier and faster to create NFTs on Hive, but let's wait til the official launch to promote it.
