How to crush bronze in Splinterlands?

It's a question that a lot of people want to get answered, let's be honest: when you're new to Splinterlands, it's not that easy to get to silver or even gold or higher. In the past I already wrote about some single cards that are very usefull in bronze league: Mini guide

Altough the mini guide is from more than a year ago, I think those cards are still quite (cost)effective. BUT it are just single cards...

What are Peakmonsters decks?

1 week ago, @peak-monsters announced their new feature: decks (Original article) With decks people can show off the builds which are working for them, they can even specify in which scenarios (aka rulesets) or which league they are usefull. Especially for newer people it could be a handy tool to try out builds and get a sense of what works together and what doesn't.

Another advantage is that you could make your own deck. For example, you're a player who loves to play a certain deck build around Yodin, in the past you always had to go search those cards and than rent them. Now you could build the deck you like and you have all the cards you want to rent together. Disclaimer: you still need to rent them 1 by 1, but atleast you don't have to go and search for them.

! [Spoiler alert] Peakmonsters announced that an update will come where they'll allow 1 click to rent the whole deck!

Besides that it's also very easy to communicate through decks. Well, @stekene, what do you mean by that? Well, it's so much easier to make a deck and share it to friends / followers / scholars / ... You can easily link it, write an article about your deck and why it's the best or cheapest or whatever. You can explain your decks in your newest @threespeak video and afterwards you share the link to your deck. So in my opinion it will really help people talk about @splinterlands.

Probably you could come up with even more usecases. Earlier today I saw a giveaway using the decks. As I thought it was quite an original format of a giveaway, I'll share the link. What is the concept? You have to make your own deck, following the rules of the mentioned giveaway post. Afterwards all decks who are participating will battle in a tournament (simulation), the deck that makes it to the end, will be the winner and will even get a nice prize. • The green area shows where you could select which decks you want to see, it's like a big filter.
• The blue area shows which specific decks you want to filter on, like element / mana / league / ruleset / ...
• The red area shows the decks that match your filters. You can see some deck creators have the PRO symbol under their name, this means that the deck is created by a verified rather strong player, for example people who play on the top of the leaderboards of the ranked leagues.

Which deck should I use?

You told us what those decks are all about, you told us where to find them, But how can I crush bronze now?

Explanation:

• Summoner: Yodin Zaku, it's quite obvious that this deck is built around Yodin Zaku, the fact that he gives all monsters the blast ability in combination with +1 range makes him a strong summoner, especially in bronze where most people don't have that many good cards.
• Tank: Tusk the wide / Living lava / Cerberus, Tusk in case you see that the opponent is using a lot of magic. Living lava if you see that the opponent used mostly ranged/melee in his previous matches. When it are low mana battles, Cerberus is an excellent card.
• Fillers: Creeping Ooze / Furious chicken, always nice to fill up some spaces if you have spaces / mana left.
• Attackers: Lava spider / Fire beetle / Blood maker, Lava spider and Crypto beetle have the snipe ability, this in combination with the blast from Yodin, makes it possible that those monsters are able to attack 3 monsters at once, while benefitting from the +1 range aswell. Blood maker has the scattershot ability which leads possibly to the same: being able of attacking 3 monsters at once. I added scavo firebolt aswell, as he doesn't cost that much to rent and he has 2range attack (+1) aswell. The lava launcher is a good card to use in high mana matches for example.

Now I'll win 100% of my games?

Ofcourse it's not as easy as that. this deck would cost 98dec to rent at the time of writing, which seems to be quite ok to me. Ofcourse there are better cards and/or you could use higher leveled versions of the cards, here I only worked with 1* cards, as it worked for me quite well and it's cheaper.
Since Splinterlands is really trying to balance the game quite well, Yodin has some strong opponents aswell. Think about monsters who're directly attacking the backline for example.

Conclusion

In my opinion the decks update of Peakmonsters is a really great addition to their website. All card battle games benefit from such a deckbuilding tool as it makes it way easier for beginners to get to know the strategies: which synergies are there, when should I play which card etc.
