Since January 2018 I am a member of this community. At first I was really excited about D.tube and could not wait to get a new account.
I created an account and had to wait. It took a whole week for Steem to accept my new account. Usually when you register on a new web page it takes just a few minutes. I really don't know why Steem is doing this? Against multiple registration - thats why you need a phone number. To check every new account by hand? What's the benefit ?
The second draw back was D.tube. Most videos are really fast down and not watchable even just a few days after upload. That's a big issue! Not everyone is able to host his own videos. D.tube is trying to work on this problem. But my experience for now is that even in the first 5 days some videos are not reachable:(
An other thing that caught my attention are voting bots like @buildawhale. They are a great way to promote your own articles, If they are used right. But often I see some random and not even thoughtful articles or videos on trading or hot that are only there because of voting bots. It may be a problem that voting bots are too cheap. When a vote is bought the reward is more than the cost. So you gain money by buying votes? Seems not right to me....
I keep my hopes high. Steem could be the future to social media and I want to be a part of it. Do you agree? Whats your experience, hopes and problems?
