I thought I was investing in trees.

Turns out I actually like the trees.

16 days in I've somehow gone from casually checking out a game to maintaining an entire digital forest:

  • 🌲 3 Pine Trees

  • 🌳 3 Willow Trees

  • 🌸 2 Cherry Blossoms

  • 🌳 1 Oak Tree

  • 🌱 1 Seed Tree

Together they're producing about 0.71 HIVE/day before bonuses.

Current stats:

💰 175 HIVE invested
💸 ~6 HIVE earned
🍀 ~1 HIVE from bonuses

What surprised me is that the game scratches two completely different parts of my brain.

One part enjoys building and optimizing the grove.

The other part enjoys watching HIVE slowly accumulate and gaming that sophisticated social investment strategy.

I've already maxed out the currently available tree slots, started chasing bonus efficiency, and even opened a second account because apparently one digital forest wasn't enough.

The more time I spend with it, the more I realize I'm not really betting on trees.

I'm betting that accumulating HIVE today won't look completely insane a few years from now.

The trees just happen to make the process a lot more enjoyable.

Of course, there are risks.

Maybe HIVE goes up.

Maybe HIVE goes down.

Maybe future me has to explain why present me spent 175 HIVE building multiple digital forests on the blockchain.

That's a problem for future me.

For now, I'm having fun watching my little grove grow.
