Yes, I agree that He was born from a Virgin as a sign to show something different. But why is that? Why did Isaiah foretold that such a thing would happen? What Maximus says is not in the Bible by words,

What is your opinion about Anaxagoras influence on cosmological ideas of Neoplatonists and Christian Neoplatonists, like Origen? Professor Tzamalikos thoroughly explaines the connection between them in

Xenophan was the one who laid out the foundation of logical criticism of theology. Aristotle (unmoved Mover) and Plato (indirectly with theory of Ideas and greatest Good) drew heavily from this tradition.
