There are moments in Splinterlands when I feel like I am actually a professional strategist.

I look at the cards.

I check the mana.

I study the rules.

I think about positioning.

I build my lineup.

Then I sit back and think:

“Yeah, I’ve figured this game out.”

Five minutes later, my entire team is getting destroyed. 😂

At that point, I don’t even know what to say.

I just watch the battle quietly like a disappointed football manager.

The funniest part is that I usually blame everything except myself.

“My tank was unlucky.”

“That card shouldn’t have missed.”

“The opponent got lucky.”

“The ruleset was against me.”

Then after about thirty seconds of complaining, I realize:

I probably just made a terrible lineup. 😂

And somehow, instead of stopping, I immediately click to play another battle.

That is the dangerous part.

You lose and think, “Let me just try one more.”

One more becomes three.

Three becomes five.

And suddenly you’ve been playing for much longer than you planned.

There are also those battles where you are completely confident that you are going to win.

Your team is looking good.

The opponent’s lineup doesn’t seem too threatening.

You are already celebrating internally.

Then one unexpected ability changes everything.

Your strongest card disappears.

Now you’re looking at the screen like:

“Wait… what just happened?” 😂

And your opponent is probably somewhere enjoying the easiest victory of their life.

But honestly, some of the funniest moments are when a random strategy actually works.

You choose a card because you don’t have a better idea.

You put it somewhere that feels reasonable.

You start the battle with absolutely no confidence.

Then suddenly…

It works.

The card starts performing.

Your team starts dominating.

And now you are looking at that card differently.

“Maybe I underestimated you.”

😂

This is why I like experimenting.

You never really know what will happen.

Sometimes your brilliant idea fails spectacularly.

Sometimes your terrible idea somehow becomes genius.

And sometimes you have no idea what you are doing but still win.

That last one is my favorite. 😂

Another thing I find funny is how seriously I can take one battle.

One card attacks.

I lean closer to the screen.

Another card attacks.

I’m watching carefully.

One more hit.

“Come on… come on…”

Then victory appears.

And suddenly I feel like I just won a major tournament.

It’s literally one battle, but the satisfaction is real. 😂

Then the next battle starts and reality comes back.

That is Splinterlands for me.

One minute I’m feeling like a tactical genius.

The next minute I’m wondering why I chose that lineup.

But that’s exactly what makes it fun.

There is always another battle to try.

Another combination to test.

Another card to discover.

Another opportunity to make a completely questionable decision. 😂

At the end of the day, I think the biggest lesson is simple:

Never get too confident in Splinterlands.

The game will humble you very quickly.

And when it does, just laugh, learn something and queue up for another battle.

Because somehow…

I’m still coming back for one more. 😂
