As I continue exploring Splinterlands, I am learning that one of the most important parts of the game is understanding the reason behind every decision. It is easy to focus on selecting cards and getting into a battle, but I believe there is much more to the experience than simply putting a team together. Every selection should contribute to a plan, and the better I understand that plan, the more carefully I can approach each match.

When building a team, I want to think about what I expect each card to contribute. Some cards may be useful because of their attacking strength, while others may offer defensive support or abilities that complement the rest of the lineup. Instead of choosing cards just because they look powerful, I want to consider how they fit into the bigger picture. A team becomes more interesting when I can see how its different parts are supposed to work together.

This is something I find worth paying attention to because it is easy to overlook the purpose of individual cards. Sometimes, a card might seem less impressive than another option, but it could still have an important role in the right combination. Understanding that role can help me make better use of the cards available to me rather than always choosing the same familiar options.

Mana management is another part of the decision-making process that deserves attention. The available mana creates a limit, which means I cannot simply choose every card I want. I have to consider how to use that allowance effectively. This encourages me to think about the value each card brings and whether the complete team makes sense. A good selection is not necessarily about using all the available mana; it is about making choices that support the strategy I have in mind.

I also want to become more thoughtful about the conditions of each battle. A combination that works well in one match might not be the best choice in another. This means I need to avoid assuming that a successful strategy will always produce the same result. Instead, I should look at the situation, consider my options, and make adjustments where necessary. Being willing to adapt is an important part of learning any strategy game.

Another thing I have been considering is the difference between making a decision and making an informed decision. Both involve choosing an option, but the second requires some thought about the possible consequences. In Splinterlands, I may not always know exactly how a battle will unfold, but I can still make choices based on the information available to me. Even when the outcome is not what I expected, I can review my decisions and learn from the experience.

I believe this approach also makes losses more useful. When a battle does not go my way, I can ask myself whether my team had a clear purpose. Perhaps I selected cards that did not complement one another, or maybe I overlooked an ability that could have influenced the result. Thinking about these possibilities helps me identify areas for improvement instead of simply moving on without understanding what happened.

Victories also deserve some reflection. Winning can be satisfying, but I do not want to assume that every decision I made was perfect just because the result was positive. There may still be weaknesses in my approach that could become more noticeable against a different opponent. Taking time to understand why a strategy worked can help me repeat its useful parts while remaining aware of its limitations.

One thing I appreciate about Splinterlands is that the game gives me opportunities to develop patience and critical thinking. I have to evaluate options, consider different possibilities, and make decisions without knowing every detail of what my opponent will do. These challenges make the experience more engaging because there is always something to think about before the battle begins.

As I continue playing, I want to focus on making more deliberate choices. I want to understand my cards better, pay closer attention to how they work together, and avoid selecting a team without considering its overall purpose. I know I will still make mistakes, but each mistake can help me recognize something I need to improve.

The more I learn, the more I realize that becoming a better player is not only about discovering powerful cards. It is also about learning how to use available resources wisely and understanding the reasoning behind different strategies. Small improvements in decision-making can gradually change the way I approach the game.

For now, I will keep learning, experimenting, and looking for ways to make my decisions more effective. Every battle offers another opportunity to test an idea, understand a card, or discover a better approach. I may not always get everything right, but I can make sure that I keep learning from the experience.

When selecting your team in Splinterlands, do you choose your cards based on a specific strategy, or do you start with your favourite cards and build the rest of the team around them?
