I just finished a 8.508km running that lasted about 0hh:47mm:34ss !

When I woke up I could hear it raining hard. I had wanted to get in another run this year, so I was thinking I would go out anyway as it was not cold. By the time I was up and had some breakfast the rain had stopped anyway. I have not been getting up so early over the Xmas break.

There were plenty of puddles out there, but my new shoes seem to keep the water out. I headed towards Stotfold for a brisk run. It was pretty quiet out there and I only saw one or two other runners.

It was feeling a bit like hard work, but I was determined to keep pushing myself. When I got to Stotfold I added an extra loop instead of just turning back. By the time I headed back I was more warmed up and moving a bit better. The pace was generally good. I hardly crossed any roads, but then there was not enough traffic to hold me up.

Back in #Arlesey I added some extra distance on back streets. On the last bit round the back of Chase Hill it was a bit muddy. My new shoes do not have deep tread, so they do not retain too much of the mud.

I was very warm when I got back and needed to cool down a bit before my shower. This takes me to 1246km for the year. I might have hoped for more, but it is not too bad.

There are a couple of 5km events on tomorrow morning. They will be muddy, but I will try to do one. The weather is not looking too bad. I may well have a drink tonight, but am not going too crazy.

Have a happy new year and run free in 2022.
