We have to understand that a downvote is not necessarily abuse (but it can be). People upvote for selfish reasons and you may happen to benefit from that. It is not all about what is 'best' even if we want it to be. I know you try to see the best in people, but there is so much cynical money-grabbing going on as in other aspects of life.

I do it for the good of Hive. Short term 'pain' for someone for long term potential to make much more. I know you have made a good amount from it, but you have to accept that others made less because of that. Is that fair? It's how the system was designed. If Dan had not come up with it you would be relying on other income sources which I assume you would still have.

I know some get used to the income they get and start taking it for granted. What if appreciator stopped voting for you? I would rather have 100 people giving me tiny votes, but actually reading my posts or listening to my music.

I am giving out maybe $20 each day in votes that is supporting loads of small accounts. I never vote for myself these days. Big accounts get smaller votes from me as I don't care about the curation rewards. This costs me lots of time too. Almost as much as replying to you ;)
