I know some people have issues with the differences, but I never expect a book and film to be exactly the same. Tolkien was an expert on languages and cultures so that had to influence his writing. It's still a great work and admired by lots of people.

BTW We went to where they filmed Hobbiton in New Zealand. That was fun.
