There is some great photography on Hive, but lots of mediocre too. What you make can depend a lot on who you know. I think some people had an issue with you getting Curie votes, but that is up to the curator and not you. It seems it can be hard to get off some blacklists, but I think those who operate them have a responsibility to respond to appeals. I do not have much influence with them. Good luck.
