We were there about 10 years ago and they didn't have a house you could go inside then. We did the evening tour that ended with a song in the party field, a walk through Hobbiton with lanterns and then a feast at the Green Dragon. It was something special. We went to their workshop in Wellington where you could see how they made the props for this and other movies. I'd love to go back to New Zealand some time to see more of the place.
