Not such a great week for the coins we like. I guess Mr Sun will be happy with $TRON, but then he has to get over what a disaster his attempt to buy this chain was. It seems there is still no new development on the 'legacy chain' and so it should be worth even less. Sun seems to care more about stupid memecoins as a way to buy political influence.
Meanwhile we can show support for Hive projects on the dapp list. None of them have more than 200 votes, so we could be doing a lot better. You just need a suitable wallet to log in. I use the one in the Brave browser. Thanks to

There are so many cool apps built around Hive. I like Hive Together that finds where a given pair of accounts have interacted. Then there is HiveIsBeautiful that shows the types of transactions in each block. Splinterlands is very active, but there is also

We are guilty of not making this platform the go-to place for good content and engagement. I joined up nearly nine years ago and we currently have just a few thousand active users. There are millions of accounts, but some people created lots to grab cool names or for abuse. Many others joined to play Splinterlands, but never got into the social side. Then we have lost lots of people along the way for various reasons. You cannot just blame 'greedy whales' and 'overzealous Hive police'.
I really think that Hive should be for everyone, but people need reasons to come here and to stick around. A few cents in rewards may not be enough. People will happily use the massive corporate platforms all day for no rewards as they find it fun.
We do have some professional level content creators here, but some get little attention as they may not have links to the big accounts and they may not do much engagement here as they are busy on other platforms. We need to make it worth their time to visit more often. If it is then they may tell their friends in their industry. I am sure that many creators are fed up with those corporate platforms where you may have to pay to get noticed. Leave them some comments and share their posts. I have mentioned plenty of such people in these posts over the years, so you can check the archive. I will favour those in areas that interest me like music and comics, but we all have things we are into.
Of course we can also chat to friends and like their selfies, but should accept that most of us will not be producing content that will go viral. We can still earn from it via curation though, so the success of a few can benefit all.
We can also bring outsiders to cool content on Hive via links on other platforms. It does not have to be all about promoting your own posts.
These are just my thoughts and I love to hear what others think. What do you think is holding Hive back?
The End
I did not get a post out last Friday as I was away. I just do this for fun, but plenty of people have told me that it is useful to them. I just cannot commit to a definite schedule. However, I will be doing my monthly #BritList post tomorrow that I have kept up for years. I have done some posts for other countries, but I do not have time to maintain them all and so leave it to others to do that.
