I was recently given a couple of whiskies. This one came from a friend who knows his stuff and has quite a collection. It is not a brand I knew.
The bottle is quite distinctive. It is flattened and very dark so you cannot see the liquid.
It has a nice colour. I tried it straight, but it was better with a dash of water. It is smooth at first taste and then you get a bit of a kick in the throat that is not unpleasant. It goes down very nicely.
It is a blended whisky, but very drinkable. Apparently it dates back to Victorian times.
Worth checking out.
