Description from Strava:
After our trip up north I am back at Henlow Bridge Lakes. We were told that next week will be the fifth anniversary of this event. I did the second run and quite a few others. It was a nice morning that was not too warm. Just right for me really.
I set off fairly near the front and let lots of people go past me. After a while I picked a few as possible pacers. There was one I stuck with for the whole way and that may have pushed me to go quicker. It is total chance as I had no idea of his potential finishing time.
I did not sleep that well last night and may have a cold coming, but I felt pretty good about my running. I was not really looking at my watch, but at the end I was happy with my time. Officially it is 26:15, which is my best in a long while. That is after only running twice in two weeks. I did thank the guy who had paced me, even though he did not know he was doing it at the time.
I got a coffee afterwards, but had to wait a while for some others to turn up as they were marshaling. I found people to chat to anyway. The folk at parkrun are pretty friendly generally.
I do need to order a new strap for my Garmin watch as some of the holes have merged and so it is a bit loose. The official Garmin ones are expensive, so I will look at alternatives. It has lasted pretty well though.
I will see how I feel tomorrow before I decide on whether I run.
Enjoy your weekend and run free!
