Description from Strava:
It was raining when I went out this morning, but not very much. It is forecast to rain a fair bit today. That should mean that we do not need to water the garden much.
Just after I set off I heard my keys fall out of the little zip-up pocket in the back of my shorts. There is a small hole there so I had to hold them for the rest of the run. I may sew that up, but the keys will wear through eventually. Sometimes I put them on a lanyard instead.
I am trying to get back into running intervals. I was just reading about the importance of body power, especially as you get older. You can be strong, but you need to be able to deploy that strength quickly. I want to train my legs to move quicker.
It worked out quite well today with my best set of times for the sprint up West Drive in a while. Some of them were at under 5min/km. I was quicker a few years ago, but age is a factor.
I was quite happy with how I did, but needed some recover time after each sprint when I walked back down.
The rain did not amount to much, so I did not really get wet and it is not cold. I would like it to warm up a bit so that I can use the pool. I plan to run at parkrun this week. I just checked the volunteer roster and it is almost full. I will help out again soon.
Run free!
