Description from Strava:
It is a nice morning and I set out to do some intervals on the uphill stretch to Fairfield. This is a workout I have done lots of times over several years. It happens to be the steepest hill that is close to home.

I did my usual five sprints. The times were similar to last week, but I did not crack 5 min/km today. I was conscious of moving my feet a bit quicker, but I am sure my running form could be better. On one pass I tried to kick my heels up a bit more. If you watch the really quick runners they almost kick their behinds when they run, but I just do not lift my feet that much. This is something I need to look into more.

I needed a breather after each sprint and so walked some of the way back down. I saw some other runners passing that way and they may wonder what I was doing, but we each do our own routines.

I took it easy on the way home, so the average pace is nothing special. I hope to be doing parkrun on Saturday and will see how that goes. It is my benchmark of progress and I want to see my times come down a bit.

I got booked to go to Hivefest in Split last night. I am looking forward to that and will take my running kit. There does not seem to be a parkrun there, but I am sure I will find somewhere to explore.

Run free!
