Description from Strava:
I awoke to news that Donald Trump suffered a minor injury in a shooting. I am against violence, but this man has stirred up division and hatred. I detest him as a politician, but would not wish him dead. I expect that he will try to exploit this rather than calling for gun control. More guns do not solve problems.
I had a bit of a lie-in, but wanted to get out and run. It is a lovely morning. I wanted to try the track up to Langford that I have not done in a while. It can get flooded, but I was hoping it would be okay now. It turned out to be fine. It takes me well away from any roads as I run by the lakes.
I saw several groups of ladies out running today. They may be preparing for some event.
I am not sure what trees were chopped down for this big pile of logs. They were at a junction where I tend to turn left. I ought to go the other way some time, but it would mean a longer run.
From the logs there is a stretch across open fields. Just after that a guy was running the other way at a good pace.
I came back through Clifton and Henlow. There is a big old house that has been worked on for ages and is still not finished. I like to have a good look around when I am out.
I covered a little of the parkrun course on the way back. I did not sprint to the finish this time.
I was pretty warm when I got back for a breakfast of granola and fruit, including berries from the garden.
There is a certain soccer match on tonight that will be much watched here. It could be a time for a nice cycle ride when the roads are quiet, but I may stay in to watch it.
Love, peace and running.
