Hypertensive Emergency - Diagnostic and treatment challenge

There were no takers for my first medical contest on SteemIt, sadly. Perhaps it was too difficult or maybe it just takes some time for an idea to percolate through. I thought the best way about it to continue creating and publishing those contests - one sparrow doesnt make the spring :)

So here is the new contest (or #medtest):

Hypertensive emergency

to make sure it is noticed by our medical community I even posted the sign in London Tube - as you can see I spared no expanse for the contest to be discovered :)

Contest rules:

  1. Create a post with your answers to the questions listed below. Copy-paste from medical textbooks is not allowed and will disqualify your entry. Be as complete as you can, don't worry about grammar/mistakes, as long as people can understand your post, it's all good.
  2. Include a reference/link to this post in your post;
  3. Include a tag #medtest in your tag categories at the bottom of your post, feel free to copy my tags if you want;
  4. Make a link to your post in the comments below, to help me find your post;

To help you with all this linking business (we don't have to be all computer wizards for this ; ) - here is an example how to create a link:

We'll start low, go slow with the first image for the contest. The winners gets a prize of 0.5 steem. I will use my personal steem funds for the contest.
Future steem income generated from the contest will be used to fund more contests and bigger prizes.
If no winning entries received for this challenge the prize will be moved to the next medical contest;

Please create a post with answers to the following questions about Hypertensive Emergency:

  1. What is it?
  2. How would you diagnose it?
  3. How would you manage/treat this condition if this was your patient?

You have till next Sunday, Jan 14 . I will review and announce the winner on Monday, Jan 15.
Good luck and have fun!
