I used a collection of GarageBand images to create a lead sheet for a new Tetrahedroseph song.
Is that a derogatory term, “chino?” It’s a city name…
These are the images of my computer screen. It’s GarageBand, the “piano roll” and the main editing window.
I used my new phone to take pictures of the computer screen. I took pictures of the software instrument’s midi notes that GarageBand currently still provides. (Do I sound surprised they still ALLOW that feature?) if you use a software instrument to create a part, there’s a button to show you how that part would appear on sheet music. It scrolls with the cursor. It’s better than nothing especially for fast production.
The image below is the first draft. Needs to be cropped and I want to remove the color.
This is the final draft. Anything else can be added by hand. This will save me lots of button pressing and touchpad pinching stress.
I could’ve written it out by hand on some staff paper, and this probably would’ve served me. I’ve done it before. It’s healthy. I’m more interested in saving time now. This music is supposed to flow as easily, and as enjoyable as possible. Weighing in the production hangups/bottlenecks is all part of the fun I guess. Musical journey, right?

I was driving by FedEx and I had big band music to print out also. Here it is.
I can see an overlap on some of the bass notes in the bridge. It looks too dark, but it will work. I’m glad that wasn’t my toner cartridge. I don’t even know if I have patience for that part it’s cut off anyways. My focus was the melody notes of on the sheet.
To keep this healthy and fun and intentional, I plan to perform the software parts I created on the Guzheng with #TheBrokenYellowGuitar. I want to play them in unison. I wanted to sound like an orchestra part.

Ecency doesn’t save my progress. It’s intermittent and has something to do with task shifting or the new gallery functions and behavior. It’s not user error. I tested software for 10 years. I’m aware of that joke. It’s always user error. I know the joke..
