Hi everyone! I have seen so many familiar faces on the battlefield! I love how I can just go on there at any time of the day and battle right away. I mainly battle with @clove71 but use
@sheplaysmonsters at times as well. I love all the people who are so into battling like I am . Today is December 20th and Season 3 battling has been amazing so far! There are only 7 days left! What exciting times. I like to share anything I find that might help you all in some way. A great tool I found by
@holger80 is to receive a notification on your desktop when your opponent is matched! I need to add this on my PC as I do multi task all the time and often flee by not hearing it or paying attention. Here is the great post HERE There was also another post he made I loved about splinters and their usage. You can view that post HERE
Congrats! To @fenrir78 for getting to Champion I!

We have a guest on today speaking briefly about Steem Monsters battling and with a background in Magic games @bafi is seriously a great player! I asked him to give us a little insight on his thoughts for helping you all get the best teams possible to beat others and rise to the top! Here is what he had to say;
Hey everyone! This is @bafi, player for the official
@contestkings account. I’m playing for top spots in the leaderboard and currently rated at 4406 and 8th in the general chart. I do play Magic at competitive level and love strategical games overall.

Let’s start analysing this.
Rules:
20 Mana
Only commons and rares
Having a clear idea of what are the strongest abilities per splinter can really help analysing what to pick in each battle.
My thought process is always (or kinda) this:
20 mana minus 2/3 for summoners means 17/18 effective mana
4/5/6 mana is reserved for frontline (only ecception to this is gambling a Cocatrice frontline, which is a strategy that does work but I’ll do a detailed post about it cause needs loads of math)
Effective mana for backline/ranged/mages/sneaks is 12/13/14
Putting Cocatrice last will “counter” sneak, given Swift + Flying and high speed. That way I can assure my backline can safely hit for 2/3 turns.
Combining Malric +1 on melee and Enchanted I get an extremely strong sneak duo pair, hitting for 5 each and with high speed (6 and 5 respectively).
To keep protecting the sneak team, I preferred “sacrifing” the Pixie (you have to remember that the first ranged/mage will be the target of snipe) and put the Bettle after to keep protecting my sneak monsters.
All in all, I love double sneak comp with Inspire, but you have to be careful on Coca last monster or Air Elemental (with swift and heal).
Hope you like this first battle review, see you next time!
