No clue on the age, but obviously most were late 20's+. It was also Steem's 3rd SteemFest after starting from scratch.
Investors can come and go. Many of the large stakeholders have been in crypto for a while with a first mover advantage... but that will normalize over time. Many may have even powered down or left. I feel that the core user base will grow younger over time instead of in the other direction. Younger/more aggressive people are potentially absorbing this "experience" at a faster rate, are more adept and comfortable with the landscape, and will help us in aggressively growing out on the platform -- especially if they have tech skills and pursue business and funding here. I just don't see wiser older investors doing this as fervently. I see them being more as a buy and hold/delegate strategy more often.
100,000 Steem Power is only $15,400 today, and a lot of younger people can find that money or quickly funnel it into crypto holdings. It might take them a bit longer than someone who can drop it in up front, but it doesn't take long when there's a will. Heck, even a yearly bonus for many can cover that, which a lot of younger "aware" people could presumably be waiting for to drop into crypto.
