That's a shame to hear. Good pull on the washing machine motor. I know the feeling about having to get fierce to get something out. I've done plenty of my share.
On top of the motor (which you probably can't test), the motherboard inside and display (if any) are also good parts. Some washing machines' metal hinges are also great sellers. I sold an Electrolux hinge for $50 and a detergent tray for $54, latch for $23.
I'm a super minimalist when I go outside. I only bring my cell phone, a pocket knife, and usually a screwdriver that has multiple heads. I don't even carry a backpack or bag... Whatever I find, I need to find a way to get it back home with only things I can recycle (usually boxes or small bags I find). If something is very big but valuable, and I don't have the proper tool, I'll walk home and get it to dissect it on the curb.
