" It takes courage to say yes to rest and play in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol. "

We can keep on being slaves to the shit show taking place, or we can wake up and take back our control. I choose the latter.

Let’s give the credit where its due. We are without a single doubt fascinating creatures. On the one hand, we’re full of biases, and on the other, we’ve programmed ourselves into believing that we are so right, when really, we aren’t, not one bit. We process information and what happens to us in a way that strictly benefits our personal narrative. We justify our every move even though it’s such a poor method of judgment, because let’s face it, you can justify yourself infinitely if you want to.

In other words, even if we suck big time we would never admit to our own selves that we do because who wants to admit that kind of thing, right? Might as well take the blue pill and stay asleep in your own delusion.

I don’t know who created the rules of our culture, but clearly, these people were popping too many pills when they made this madness real because it does not making any fucking sense alrights. Or maybe it’s all our fault because most people surely do live by the rules of this so-called hustle culture bs. Turn off your computer for a second, press mute on Gary Vee who’s claiming he’s worked 20 hours a day for 20 years, and tune in with your inner self for a minute or two, would you.

Life isn’t meant to be an accumulation of over achievements. It doesn’t make you an extraordinary person because you’re addicted to using every single pocket of time of everyday to fill it with whatever-it-is. We’re all ordinary people alright. Stop let your mind trick you into thinking that the more you do during a day, the better/hotter/cooler/smarter it makes you. Life is an ultra-marathon, not a sprint. So calm your tits, stop flagellating yourself because you’re not fast enough, and take a long cooling breath.

All these pop culture quizzes and posts on how to do more - how to become this and that are fooling you. You don’t need to follow anyone’s advice. You don’t need to live up to anyone’s ideals. But you still ought to reexamine what are your own standards, and if they really are your own. It’s easy to trick ourselves into thinking that we live life the way we want it – yet most of the time, we live life according to the way we’ve been told we should live it as.

The time has come to decondition the f*** out of your mind, and choose intention over production. Because auntie Sabby has some news for you my friend, and I’m here to tell you that hustling your way through life doesn’t make you a super hero. Living mindfully and intentionally does. Choose your camp wisely.
