" Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived. "- Dalai Lama
Ditch Material Wealth – Focus On Spiritual Wealth
Rich on the surface, poor on the inside. You hide your emptiness behind all that fake ass extravagant lifestyle. Why do people relentlessly chase for money, if it’s doomed to make them forever unhappy? When is more enough? When is enough enough? For the unconscious human mind, there isn’t such a thing as having had too much.
Before selling your soul to riches, take a word of advice or two from good old auntie Saby. As they say, better be safe than sorry! While money will surely give you the means to fill your house with a bunch of stuff, it sadly won’t give you what you need the most: to fill your soul with unconditional self-love and acceptance. Reality often hurts when it doesn’t align with your most dreamy fantasies. But here’s the truth.
There will never come a point in your life where you’ll have a "this is it, I’ve had enough! I don’t want more! " moment if you keep on chasing for more superficialities. What needs to change isn’t the number chilling inside your bank account, but your life perspective. Yes, a lack of money can definitely bring unhappiness. But the opposite isn’t true. Having enough/more than enough/ money will not give you a free pass to happiness. It may enhance it, but temporarily. And sadly, more often than not, it will increase your dissatisfaction.
In that sense, the fact remains that if you feel empty with 0.50$ in your pocket, you’ll still feel empty if you were to receive a 1.000.000$ check. I’m sorry to break it out to you brother, but the external world won’t make up for your inner disturbance. Money can help you afford therapy, but that doesn’t mean it’ll magically undo your state of misery.
