You are absolutely right. As one of my favorite couple therapist says: we expect one person to fulfil needs that once were taken care of by a whole village. I think that says a lot. Putting the entirety of our needs in the hands of one person is a sure recipe for disappointment. No one can measure up to the task lol, no matter how pure the intentions.
