Let your desire to be right bleed to death. Put your confirmation bias to sleep. Choke the fuck out of your tendency to have the last word. Go deep into the crevices of your own mind, and from there question every belief you’ve held for truth your whole life. You have every right to hold an opinion, yet that does not make your opinion any more right than someone else’s. We all have dead angles, and as egotistical as we are, we don’t like when others bring them to our attention.

Threaten someone’s system of beliefs, and you’ve threatened the very ground on which rests their identity. Yet it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s interesting to me how rigid we are with our way of thinking. We love it when things are binary. It’s either I’m right and you’re wrong - there’s no such thing as an in between.

And while our ego is always on the lookout to prove others wrong - we ought to make a 360 shift on this tendency and put ourselves under the radar. Bring your biases under the spotlight. Don’t be afraid to see them in the brightest of light. Your truth isn’t the ultimate truth. How can you be purely objective anyway when you walk through life filtering reality?

There’s always 3 sides to a story, and that doesn’t make your side coincide with reality. Human beings are quite the experts at committing fraud against their own selves. Worse is that most aren’t even aware of it. They falsify facts, magically turn their wrongs into rights, convince themselves of their inherently good nature just for the sake of keeping a cohesive narrative that aligns with their narcissistic frame of mind. The path to least resistance is what we use best. Because it’s a a ton more easier to think of yourself as the best rather than seeing yourself as one shitty fucking mess.
