The priorities of choosing a life partner is really a gamble I believe. The result is unpredictable yet you place your cards on the table..

I know many may say they need someone good looking or someone like their siblings or dad or someone who is basically a perfect human specimen.

For me the choice of priorities are more based on accidents of my life than anything else

Incident 1

16 years old.. With my best friends just our after watching Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee’s stunning movie “ Black”.

Me and both of my best friends are at my place discussing random stuff and one of my best friend suddenly kissed me..

I'm numb and my other best friend is frozen..

The words told by my best friend at that moment after the kiss was, “I guess this is what it feels like to be gay!!!”

Incident 2
Around 20 yrs old. Me and all my siblings ( yes my family is huge..we are 14 first cousins all together) are at my eldest cousin’s post wedding reception..

After 3 days of festivity and fun everyone among my siblings has found someone or the other they are interested in and visi versa.

I had no change, and I never had someone interested in me.

“ You are very intimidating. Worse of it all is you don't understand the concept of beauty.”.. That's what one of closest cousin told me..

Incident 3

24 yrs old.. Just back from Pondicherry after a week long solo journey pondering upon myself and trying to make a decision..

Finally, I break up after 5 yrs of relationship with one of the most amazingly flawless person ever..

“People don't get lucky twice..You have such a unstable and odd personality, do you think you will ever find someone who will accept a wierdo as their partner? Get back with him right now.” My closest and oldest girlfriend told me this to show me the right path to choose.

Incident 4

28 yr old me is sitting in front of group of spectators like a gorilla sits in her cage of a zoo. I'm being assessed as a prospective bride for an IIT, IIM alumni working in Uganda..

I said no to the proposal.

“You are fat, you are almost 30.. Why do you want to be so choosy and obnoxious.. Can't you see how worried your parents are about your future.. You are lucky to get proposals at least, that too such awesome ones.” My dad's elder sister whom I love and respect a lot said that to me.
