Well today I want to write about something I'm quite interested in , I always find myself listening rap music in the last couple of months and especially Turkish Rap , I don't have a specific genre when I'm picking musics I like to listen anything that meets my standarts in Music , which are divinity , reality and meaning.

As we all know Rap is Rhytmic American Poetry and it borned in the Ghettos of New york in 1970's , It started areas like Harlem , Bronx where most people were suffering and not getting threatened by actual human being , the afro-american people created the foundation of Rap music with Jazz and Rhytme and Blues and from those structure people started to rhyme with those samples and the voices from the ghettos really become and actual voice and snowballed and made rap music popular.

A Turkish Rap Group from Germany named Cartel

However I always found the rise of Rap music in Turkey quite interesting it started as a storm too , A group of people living in Germany started the group Cartel in 95 and it started the era of the rap in Turkey , if there were some pioneers in Turkey in rap these are the guys that made it all possible , a lot of people who is living in Turkey got quite impressed the message coming from these immigrant Turkish people who is living in Germany. There were many others like them Killa Hakan , Ceza , Sagopa followed them and they become the beacon of light to the Turkish Rap.

It all started with from big and crowded places in Turkey like Istanbul and it was mostly slang , however with some time the slang language turned in to a sophisticated poetic language and they mostly aimed to solve the soceital problems and they adressed the issues most of people facing in a 3rd World Middle Eastern country.

Killa Hakan

The Bias to rap music shifted quite easily after some years and the style of Turkish Rap was quite pessimist and protest and it still keeps its form like that , except some new school rappers and it is evolving quite fast. Now I'm going to share some of the songs I really love to listen and sadly it is going to be mostly old school with basic samples , because I really love old School.

Mode Xl - Erotizma - Disrespect track to Sagopa

Killa Hakan ft Ceza - Basit bir Suç

Gazapizm , Cashflow -Sıfır Bir Soundtrack - Slighlty New School

Sansar Salvo - Ölürsem Bugün

Sagopa Kajmer - Terapi

Well sadly all of these rappers struggling in order to stay in Market because eventhough the rap fever sparkled again in Turkey it is a though market to stay in so they are changing their style and modernize their samples and beats that is the only thing I don't like in the Turkish rap but there are still decent rappers coming out from new generation rappers and it is quite promising for the continuity of Turkish Rap.

Thanks for Reading & Hasta La Vista!
