I have been studying since childhood that trees are our best friends. There are many reasons to call the tree our best friend. Today I will discuss those issues lightly. At the same time, I will shed some light on the extreme scarcity of trees or what a treeless world can be like.
ছোটবেলা থেকে পড়াশোনা করে আসছি যে, গাছ আমাদের পরম বন্ধু। গাছকে আমাদের পরম বন্ধু বলার অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। আজকে আমি সেসব বিষয়গুলো নিয়েই হালকা আলোচনা করবো। সেই সাথে গাছের অত্যধিক স্বল্পতা বা গাছহীন পৃথিবী কেমন হতে পারে সেদিকেও একটু আলোকপাত করবো।
The first thing that any animal needs to survive is food. The living world is divided into two parts. Plants and animals. Of these, plants can make their own food. Animals, on the other hand, are unable to make their own food. They depend on plants for their food. Whether it is directly or indirectly. Humans belong to the fauna. So man is totally dependent on plants for his food.
যেকোন প্রাণীর বেঁচে থাকার জন্য সর্বপ্রথম যেটা দরকার সেটা হল খাদ্য। জীবজগত দুই ভাগে বিভক্ত। উদ্ভিদ ও প্রাণী। এদের মধ্যে উদ্ভিদ নিজের খাদ্য নিজে তৈরি করতে পারে। অন্যদিকে প্রানীকূল নিজের খাদ্য নিজে তৈরি করতে অক্ষম। এরা নিজেদের খাদ্যের জন্য উদ্ভিদজগতের উপর নির্ভরশীল। হোক সেটা প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষভাবে। মানুষ প্রানীকূলের অন্তর্ভূক্ত। সুতরাং মানুষ তার খাদ্যের জন্য উদ্ভিদের উপর পুরোপুরি নির্ভরশীল।
In addition, animals need oxygen to produce energy in the process of respiration from the food they consume. This oxygen man receives from nature. Plants produce a large part of this oxygen in nature. The need for oxygen is not just in the case of tree production. The fire that we kindle to cook food is also not possible without oxygen. The multiple uses of natural oxygen cannot be concluded. So it can be said that in a treeless world we will become extinct due to lack of oxygen.
এছাড়া প্রাণী যে খাদ্য গ্রহণ করে তা থেকে শ্বসন প্রক্রিয়ায় শক্তি উৎপাদনের জন্য অক্সিজেন প্রয়োজন। এই অক্সিজেন মানুষ প্রকৃতি থেকে গ্রহন করে। প্রকৃতির এই অক্সিজেনের একটা বড় অংশ গাছ উৎপাদন করে। অক্সিজেনের প্রয়োজনীয়তা যে শুধু গাছ উৎপাদনের ক্ষেত্রে তাই নয়। আমরা খাবার রান্না করার জন্য যে আগুন জ্বালায় সেটাও অক্সিজেন ছাড়া সম্ভব না। প্রাকৃতিক অক্সিজেনের বহুবিধ ব্যবহার বলে শেষ করা যাবেনা। তাই এই কথা বলাই যায় গাছহীন পৃথিবীতে আমরা অক্সিজেনের অভাবেই বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাব।

গ্রীনহাউজ গ্যাসের কথা শুনে নাই এমন মানুষ হয়তো বর্তমান পৃথিবীতে খুঁজে পাওয়া সবথেকে কঠিন। কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড একটি গ্রীন হাউজ গ্যাস। এই গ্রীন হাউজ গ্যাসের প্রভাবে পৃথিবীর তাপমাত্রা দ্রুত বর্ধনশীল। উচ্চ তাপমাত্রার কারনে মেরু অঞ্চলের বরফ দ্রুত গলে যাচ্ছে এবং এর ফলে সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠের উচ্চতা দ্রুত বেড়ে যাওয়ায় সমুদ্র তীরবর্তী অঞ্চল গুলো প্লাবিত হচ্ছে। যার ফলে দ্রুত বর্ধনশীল জনসংখ্যার এই পৃথিবীতে ভূপৃষ্ঠের মোট পরিমাণ দ্রুতই কমে যাচ্ছে।
Animals produce carb dioxide gas through their respiration process. Then the tree absorbs this carbon dioxide gas and keeps the ratio of different gases in the air just right and helps to protect us from the greenhouse effect.
প্রাণীকূল তাদের শ্বসন প্রক্রিয়ার মাধ্যমে কার্ব ডাই অক্সাইড গ্যাস উৎপাদন করে। তখন গাছ এই কার্বন ডাই-অক্সাইড গ্যাস শোষণ করে বাতাসে বিভিন্ন গ্যাসের অনুপাত ঠিক রাখে এবং আমাদেরকে গ্রীন হাউস প্রভাব থেকে বাঁচাতে সাহায্য করে।

এছাড়া গাছ থেকে আমরা আগুন জ্বালানোর জন্য জ্বালানী পাই। রাস্তায় ক্লান্ত পথিককে গাছ পরম আকাঙ্খিত ছায়া আর সুশীতল বাতাস উপহার দেয়।
The tree you see here is almost a hundred years old. This bot tree is located in a field about four kilometers away from our house. We go there occasionally with friends. You can enjoy the nice breeze there, especially in the hot summer afternoon. Thanks.
এখানে যে গাছটি দেখতে পাচ্ছেন সেটা প্রায় শতবর্ষী একটি গাছ। আমাদের বাড়ি থেকে প্রায় চার কিলোমিটার দুরে মাঠের মধ্যে এই বট গাছটি অবস্থিত। আমরা বন্ধুরা মিলে মাঝে মাঝেই সেখানে যায়। বিশেষ করে গরমের দিমগুলোতে বিকেলের দিকে সেখানে সুন্দর বাতাস উপভোগ করা যায়। ধন্যবাদ।
